I’ve always been a proponent of fitness. Remember my spiel on Why you should be exercising as a mother a couple of days back? Or the time when I had complained Why I’m not gaga about yoga with the husband? Now, if that was not motivating enough, I’m back with an entirely new proposition this time; one that will be difficult to resist 😉
Let me paint a picture for you:
Friday morning. 65,000 sea creatures. Dim lighting. 20-odd people. Yoga. OR You go gaaaaaaaaa gaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!
Yes, in true-blue Dubai style, 5-star Atlantis has recently launched an ‘Underwater’ yoga class, held in the heart of their aquarium, The Lost Chambers. The hotel provides a yoga-mat, bottle of water and valet parking; in addition to the unique opportunity of burying yourself in the beauty and serenity of their life-size fish tank.
Conveniently scheduled on the weekend, this 1-hour, mixed-session is open to yogis at all levels of expertise, including those with a bun in their oven. The form of yoga practiced is Hatha; and is particularly suggested if you are looking for basic and gentle (not easy, though) stretches followed by pranayama (breathing exercises) and a meditation session that involves observing sharks, rays and colorful fishes in the name of relaxation.
What: Underwater Yoga
Where: The Lost Chambers, Atlantis, The Palm
